In 2024, HKU is launching its first-ever Principal Nomination Scholarship Scheme (PNSS) for Vietnamese students. This program offers 20 full scholarships (covering tuition fees and potentially living expenses) to students from seven well-known high schools in Vietnam:

• Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi
• Chu Van An High School, Hanoi
• Nguyen Sieu High School, Hanoi
• Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nam Dinh
• Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An
• Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City
• Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City

Each school can nominate up to eight outstanding students who meet the following criteria:

• Academic performance in the top 5% of students with the highest GPA.
• Exceptional extracurricular achievements.
• IELTS score of 6.5 or higher.
• A minimum average score of 8.0 in the National High School Examination.
