AMC Regulations
Target participants
They are students from grades 3 to 12 (for the 2023-2024 academic year). Students can register to take the exam at a higher grade level. The difficulty of the exam is adjusted to different levels suitable for each age group.
- Middle Primary: Grade 3 – 4
- Upper Primary: Grade 5 – 6
- Junior: Grade 7 – 8
- Intermediate: Grade 9 – 10
- Senior: Grade 11 – 12
Exam format
The AMT-designed exam features 30 multiple-choice questions in English (with some key terms provided in Vietnamese). The difficulty level gradually increases throughout the exam, with challenging questions designed for high-achieving students. Time limits are 60 minutes for grades 3-4 and 5-6, and 75 minutes for higher grades.
Students’ answers will be computer-marked using their multiple-choice answer sheets. Answer sheets and exam papers from different countries will be securely sent to Australia for centralized marking. AMT will send each student a report detailing their results, including their percentile rankings for each question and the overall exam.
By comparing their results to those of other participants, students can identify their strengths and weaknesses, pinpointing areas for improvement. This allows students to assess their abilities and determine an effective learning path to pursue higher education or other competitive opportunities.
