GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ENTRANCE EXAM FOR GRADE 6 TRAN DAI NGHIA
On the morning of May 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the survey plan for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.
Exam candidates
Students have completed primary school and have a final test score of grade 5 with each subject of Vietnamese and Math reaching 9 points or higher.
Admission criteria
The school will select 10 classes with 350 students.
Admission requirements
The age of students entering grade 6 is 11 years old (according to valid birth certificate); For students who are allowed to skip a grade in the previous grade or students entering the grade at an age higher than the prescribed age, the age for entering grade 6 will be reduced or increased based on the age of the year of graduation from the previous grade;
Ethnic minority students, disabled students, students in especially difficult circumstances, and students returning from abroad can enter school at an age 3 years older than the prescribed age.

Admission procedures: Admission is by survey method to test and evaluate students’ abilities; the Department of Education and Training is responsible for creating questions, organizing supervision and grading the survey according to current examination regulations.

GENERAL COMMENTS ON TRAN DAI NGHIA EXAM 2022-2023
This year’s survey includes two tests:
Multiple choice section: includes 20 questions in the fields of Natural Sciences, History, Geography, Social Understanding, Mathematics, Academic English and Vietnamese, each question is worth 2 points.
Essay section: includes 3 surveys: Mathematics and logical thinking (15 points), English (30 points), Reading comprehension and writing (15 points).
According to the Stemhouse’s Academic Department, this year’s exam is considered to be within the students’ ability and has a similar structure to last year’s exam. The difficulty of the questions is distributed quite evenly with about 24% of the questions being easy, 45% of the questions being average, and 31% of the questions being difficult.
